What should I be wary of when getting a cash loan?

A cash loan can help you out of a bind fairly quickly, but there are some things that you have to be wary of so that you are not caught off guard. You don’t need any unexpected surprises, especially when it was a need for money that had you applying for the loan in the first place.

First of all, you may be told that you can be approved in as little as 30 minutes. This doesn’t always happen. If you need money in a few hours, don’t count on getting it. It is very likely that the payroll department at your place of work needs to be contacted. If the lender is unable to get in touch with them, you will have to wait until they can.

How fast you’re approved also depends on how quickly you can provide the lender with requested materials that include payroll check stubs, a cancelled check, and your contact information. If you can provide them with this information and they are able to reach your payroll department, you can be approved quickly.

The next thing you need to be wary of is when you are told that you can be approved “up to a certain amount. Although you may be told that you can be approved “up to $5,000, keep in mind that this just means that $5,000 is possible and not definite. It is important to pay attention to the words “up to because these words simply mean a possibility and nothing more. How much you are loaned depends on how much you are paid. You have to be able to satisfy the loan amount when you receive your paycheck.

The next thing to be wary of is the fees. You should always ask for a breakdown of fees because the fees associated with a cash loan can exceed the interest rate at a bank. However, not everyone is able to get a bank loan, so a cash loan may be the only option. And to some it is a small price to pay for short-term debt as opposed to long-term debt.

Also, don’t rely on “60 minute deposits. Just because one lender can do it doesn’t mean they all can and you also have to keep in mind that these 60 minute deposits only work with the major banks. If your bank is not a major bank, it can take 24 to 48 hours before you see your cash. This is also something that you shouldn’t rely on.

You should also know that failing to have the money in your checking account the day that you are paid can result in you having to pay even steeper fees. This can also hamper your ability to receive cash loans in the future. Don’t think that it will take the lender a couple of days to withdraw the money. Make sure it is there the day that they are scheduled to withdraw or you could be paying a lot of money to the lender and your bank.
